The Greater Cincinnati Latino Coalition [GCLC] will focus on education for the next two months. The next meeting will be August 28 at 2 PM at the Community Action Agency, 1740 Langdon Farm Road, Cincinnati, OH 45237.
This month Speakers will be:
•Ericka Bass, CAA Head Start, who will talk about preschool education.
•Maria Lang, Program Facilitator/ESL at Academy of Multilingual Immersion Studies (AMIS), who will talk about elementary education.
•Mary Jo Montenegro, School Social Worker, who will talk about high school.
All of them will talk about Latino children, access to education, barriers they experience, and programs available to help them to succeed and have a bright future in their new country.
In September we will focus on higher education and we will have a panel with representatives from different universities from the tri-state area.
