To the Community Leaders, Educators, and Policy Makers: If you have not registered for the Kentucky African-American and Latino Relations Summit, you still have time to register.

The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights would like to invite you to participate in the Kentucky African-American and Latino Relations Summit, which is scheduled from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Kentucky State University in the Cooperative Extension Building, 400 East Main Street, Frankfort, Kentucky, 40601.

This will be the second state-wide African American and Latino Relations Summit during the past five years. This summit will examine common issues such as high unemployment, low educational achievement, immigration issues and police/community relations. It will also highlight innovative and successful partnerships and collaborations between Latino and Black communities in Kentucky.  Attendees will include prominent community, business and church leaders, policy makers and educators from both populations.

Your participation in this summit will make a great impact in our efforts to strengthen the partnerships between Latinos and African Americans in Kentucky.  The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights believe that African Americans and Hispanics have common needs that require joint efforts to address them.

If you need additional information about the summit, please feel free to contact Juan Peña, Field Supervisor, Kentucky Commission on Human Rights at 1-800-292-5566 Ext. 47 or at juan.pena@ky.gov.
