On March 6, and in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8th, Brown Cosmetics was proud to unveil the second iteration of the brand’s global charitable initiative—the Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls

Launched in March 2013, the global charitable initiative celebrates the evolution of the brand’s Pretty Powerful message from one of confidence through makeup to one of empowering women and girls through education. The Pretty Powerful Campaign aims to help women of all ages “be who they are” by supporting educational or job skills training programs that provide them with the knowledge, skills and experience needed to overcome the inequities and disadvantages that far too many of them face each day. says Bobbi Brown, Founder & CCO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics. “ And nothing makes a woman or girl feel more confident than being educated and having the knowledge and skills to better her life, and the lives of her family and community members.”

On International Women’s Day, March 8th 2014, the campaign will kick off with the introduction of the Pretty Powerful Mascara in the US, UK, Korea and South Africa. Pretty Powerful Mascara will be available in a limited edition tube in Bobbi’s signature pink featuring the campaign’s logo.

The innovative, all-in-one formula lengthens, thickens and defines eyelashes without flaking, smearing, smudging or clumping. Every cent of the retail price of the Pretty Powerful Mascara will be donated to the following beneficiaries of The Pretty Powerful Campaign for Women & Girls – organizations that are aligned with the mission to empower women and girls through education:

US: Girl Rising Fund, a 501c3 fund, operated by Tides Foundation, which drives resources to effective girl-empowerment programs in the developing world. Donations to the fund are evenly distributed among seven NGO partners including A New Day Cambodia, Girl Up, Room to Read, CARE, World Vision, Partners in Health and Plan.

UK: Smart Works, a charity that helps women on low incomes get a job and become financially independent by providing professional attire and training for interviews.

South Africa: Heartbeat, a charity that cares for the emotional well-being of orphaned and vulnerable young women and girls suffering from the impact of HIV.

Korea: Open Closet, an organization that supports job seekers with limited resources by providing access to professional attire, as well as other career development tools.
