Every child dreams of having superpowers! Awaken their imaginations with epic themes from Superman, Batman, Spiderman and Wonder Woman—along with plenty of surprises!
CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra presents its first Lollipops Family Concert of the season on Saturday, November 16 at majestic Music Hall. The concert, geared towards children and families, features iconic superhero-themed music and other surprises designed to capture the imaginations of the Orchestra’s youngest audience members and ignite a lifelong love of orchestral music.The program highlights several tunes from superhero-themed movies and television, which were also featured on the latest recording from the Cincinnati Pops on the Fanfare Cincinnati label, Superheroes! Pops Conductor John Morris Russell, respected worldwide for his educational program, leads the concert, which also includes special guests Charles Ramsey (a student at the School for Creative and Performing Arts), who will perform a special piano work, as well as vocalist Chris Collins-Pisano.
Pre-concert activities, including crafts, performances and the ever-popular “instrument petting zoo,” begin at 9:30 a.m.
Single tickets ($7/child, $12/adult) are available by contacting the Pops Box Office. Family subscriptions (which include Lollipops Family Concerts on January 25, 2014 and March 29, 2014 as well as options to add on other family-friendly performances) are also still available.
