New York, NY — Founded by a collective of Latinx artists, Reacting is a New York–based theater company dedicated to creating original, intimate, and powerful theatrical experiences. At its core, Reacting celebrates Latin identity, migration stories, and the shared human desire for connection and belonging.
Reacting emerged from a shared passion for bringing personal narratives to the stage, offering a fresh and authentic perspective that bridges cultures and communities. Through innovative storytelling, physical movement, and emotional honesty, the company invites audiences to engage with stories that resonate deeply, both individually and collectively.
The ensemble is led by founding members Clarita De Gennaro, Jimena Rosas, and Martina Demaio, and collaborates regularly with guest directors and writers. The team is committed to collective creation and embraces a process-driven approach that centers the artists’ voices and experiences.
REacting’s mission is to empower Latinx and immigrant artists in New York, create space for
underrepresented stories, and build a community around contemporary, accessible theater. Whether
through full-length plays, short play cycles, or experimental pieces, the company aims to challenge
expectations and invite audiences into a shared space of vulnerability and joy.

Clarita De Gennaro (Argentina)
Clarita De Gennaro is a New York City–based actress from Buenos Aires, Argentina. She recently completed her acting conservatory program at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has also trained in Argentina with the Chubbuck Technique, Non-Method Acting, and Stanislavsky-Strasberg approaches. Her recent theater credits include The House of Bernarda Alba (dir. Bárbara Rubin), Emilia by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (dir. Ioanna Katsarou), and original ensemble-devised work in both the U.S. and Argentina. She loves portraying complex, passionate characters with fierce wills and emotional depth. Clarita is the co-founder of REacting Theater and is honored to be part of this production; grateful to tell stories that resonate across time and human experience.
Jimena Rosas (Peru)
Jimena Rosas is a New York City–based actress from Lima, Peru. A recent graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she has also trained at the Stella Adler Studio (NY), the Lee Strasberg Institute (LA), CIC (Argentina), and the Roberto Ángeles Acting Conservatory (Perú). Her training spans a range of techniques including Adler, Strasberg, and Stanislavsky, shaping a grounded yet expressive performance style. Jimena’s recent credits include Evil Lives Here (S10E13), Quadrilateral feature film (dir. Daniel Rodriguez Risco), The House of Bernarda Alba (dir. Barbara Rubin),Play On (dir. Susan Pilar), and Beyond the Senses (dir. Menna Karadanova). Her work bridges classical and contemporary forms, often exploring the emotional contradictions of womanhood and identity. When not acting, she loves to read, swim and enjoy time in nature. She is the co-founder of REacting Theater.
Martina Demaio (Argentina)
Martina Demaio is a New York City-based actress from Buenos Aires, Argentina. A graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts, she has also trained at the Lee Strasberg Institute and studied Hagen, Adler, Stanislavsky, and Alexander techniques. Her work blends physical storytelling with emotional depth, exploring the line between reality and imagination. Recent stage credits include Mercy A.R.T NY Theater (dir. Angela Cooper), Mayonnaise Rizadas & Gatorade at La MaMa (dir.Santiago Molina), Polaroid Stories (dir. Ryan Quinn), and The Tempest (dir. Barbara Rubin). On screen, Martina appears in Return Daughter (dir. Xi Liang), Dreams in the Big City (dir.Andres Mao Vivas), and The Tank (dir. Liza Bennet). She is the co-founder of REacting Theater.

REacting Theater launches its debut production: REacting: Short Play Series. Vol. 1: Inception
—an intimate night of original short plays that explore the craft of acting—on stage, in
life, and from the heart. Bold, unfiltered, and emotionally charged, this microtheater experience
brings together three Latinx performers and three distinct stories that celebrate the chaos, beauty,
and raw truth of performance.

“Blood of my Blood” by Claudia Sacha
A darkly humorous meta-theatrical short play. As two actresses perform a dramatic
scene between sisters an unexpected electronic conflict appears. What begins as a
tense family drama erupts into chaos, challenging the limits of theatre, patience, and
live performance itself.
“Tequila in a Cup” by Tomás Caia
On a remote island at a summer camp, three clashing teachers — a burned-out
actress, an eager theater coach, and a jaded dance instructor — are forced to put on a
play no one asked for. With no kids in sight and a cup of tequila, their messy
collaboration becomes something unexpectedly meaningful.

On a remote island at a summer camp, three clashing teachers — a burned-out
actress, an eager theater coach, and a jaded dance instructor — are forced to put on a
play no one asked for. With no kids in sight and a cup of tequila, their messy
collaboration becomes something unexpectedly meaningful.
