CONSULTANT DESCRIPTION

The Hispanic Roundtable seeks an experienced project manager consultant for Convención Hispana 2013.

The Hispanic Roundtable

The Hispanic Roundtable is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to act as a catalyst to empower the Hispanic community to become full partners in the economic, education, political, civic and social life of Greater Cleveland.

Convención Hispana is a regional event occurring every three (3) years and serves as the conclusion to Hispanic Heritage Month. The event serves as a collaboration vehicle for Greater Cleveland Hispanic community organizations, partners and leaders in order to promote the mission of the Hispanic Rountable.

JOB SUMMARY

The consultant will be responsible for overall execution of Convencion Hispana 2013. S/he will report to the Co-Chairs of Convención Hispana 2013 and will serve as an independent contractor from January 2013 to December 2013.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  •   All aspects of Convención Hispana planning

  •   Budgeting

  •   Project Time-line production, management, logistics

  •   Marketing oversight (billboards, save the date cards, TV & Radio spots etc)

  •   Meeting coordination for Co-Chairs, committee chairs, and other partners and stakeholders

  •   Preparing grant reports and other documents

    QUALIFICATIONS

  •   Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  •   Ability to multi-task and to work in a flexible, diverse and deadline driven environment.

    Consultant should be flexible and available to meet with key stakeholders, hosting early

    meetings, afternoon and late evenings as well

  •   Detail oriented, strong organizational skills

  •   Knowledge and understanding of local Latino community

  •   Strong networking skills

  •   Event Planning experience

  •   Budgeting experience

  •   Grant writing experience preferred

  •   Spanish language competency preferred

  •   Must have valid driver’s license and vehicle

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires traveling through the Quad-county area (Cuyahoga, Lorain, Lake, Summit)
