Esperanza, Inc., the region’s only organization dedicated to the educational needs of Cleveland’s Hispanic community, is looking for an Associate Director to join its executive leadership team.

  The Associate Director is responsible for managing the operational functions of the organization and reports to the Executive Director. The Associate Director leads the management of the financial operations, human resource duties, and internal and external communications. The Associate Director will also assist with stakeholder relations, and with grant research and writing.

A Bachelor’s degree in business, non-profit management, human resources or related discipline is required. Master’s degree preferred. Successful candidates will have strong and provenleadership skills and are able to thrive in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment and will have a minimum seven years’ experience managing staff and volunteers.  The ideal candidate will have experience with information systems, financial development, budget development, cost containment and human resources.  Familiarity with fundraising and donor cultivation is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy are a must.  Must be able to travel, mostly local, as needed.  Bilingual in English and Spanish a must.

With a legacy and history of building trust and relationships in the Hispanic community, Esperanza is the only organization in Northeast Ohio that provides education, support and scholarships to Hispanic students as well as their families through proven, measurable programs.  In 2010 the board and staff committed itself to a 5-year strategic plan that focuses the organization’s work on improving the Hispanic youth high school graduation rate, and assisting more students in their pursuit of post-secondary education.
